Next day, the balance on the terminal shows Rs.4555/-.

Shocked. I was in profit (Rs.101) yesterday, how come it came down Rs.445/-. Where is my profit? Why I'm being shown less capital?

Googled it and found the term "Brokerage".

Even though I was in profit yesterday, but as I generated a turnover of around 17 lacs, therefore, I was charged a brokerage+taxes of Rs.445 (less my profit).

Holy crap!  how is this calculated?  My data mind came in action. Opened an excel, downloaded the order book from zerodha and made a sheet of brokerage calculator (as under) to monitor it.


The first day trade was done on 22nd January 2018 and at the close of month, I lost 3760/- from the initial 5000 rupees in my account.

SAD, but true.

Then, following an alarming bell, my mind started the journey to explore the deep depths of markets, can say, "In search of recovering loss".. the journey begins in Feb'2018 and till date there is no looking back.

I find myself lucky to be learnt so much in these two years, that many retail traders are deprived of.  Today, I see the loss (and all the further losses incurred) as blessing in disguise to throw me to a path of no-return,

  • a path of unlimited lifetime learning, 
  • a path of doctrine, 
  • a path to ocean --- the more you deep dive, the more gem you find,  
  • a path of en-lighting self, 
  • a path which many are scared off, 
  • a path which many left in-between, 
  • a path that needs sacrifice, 
  • a path with many moods, 
  • a path with peaks and troughs, 
  • a path of balancing the mind-body-education, 
  • a path of a gambler or businessmen -- choice is yours
  • a path to make luck instead of speculating luck
  • a path to become liberal from machine-routine (9 to 6)
  • a path to become emotionally independent
  • a path of attaining self-confidence
  • a path of upbringing yourself again -- self-motivation
  • a path to stand-out in the herd
  • a path to become a decision-making authority
  • a path to think & act clearly
  • a path of "mindfulness"

Traffic Lights

What I learnt from traffic lights? It was a pleasant day at office and I was commuting to home. In my mind, I was playing charts and recalling the trading screen.  I stopped on traffic lights and there was enough time of around 1.5 minute on my side. Opposite side traffic is also halted. Suddenly, I see movement in the opposite side traffic, their traffic light signal might be turning "Green".  The two-wheelers started in the first gear, followed by small cars and instantly a massive traffic just passed through my opposite side. Now, imaging this on trading charts. Price is halted zig-zag within a range from a long-time, then, suddenly you see small green candles joining up making little-little higher low than previous candle.  Then, suddenly you see a BIG LONG green candle which indicates BREAKOUT of the range and eventually, everyone (all traffic) joins it, making the price moving higher & higher.
